During the week a booking system is in operation through our IG App. However, there are times reserved for various 'roll-up' groups where we can just turn up and have a game! There is no formal tee-booking system for members at weekends, no cliques or privileged groups – a three tee start is wonderful, everyone is back in the bar together at similar time!
Grim’s Dyke is certainly one of the friendliest golf clubs in the Middlesex and the North London area and is known for its convivial and sociable club environment.
The Club provides a warm welcome to new members, guests, visitors and Golf Societies.
Unlike many Golf Clubs, our Club and its members are very open to meeting and playing with new people. This means that new members can feel comfortable about joining the Club without knowing anyone because they will very quickly become part of the ‘family’.
This process of ‘quick integration’ into the Club is enabled by numerous ‘unofficial’ daily roll-ups, where the names go in the hat and playing partners are drawn at random. It’s a smashing way to get to know people quickly! Players of all standards are welcome to join in and there is also a strong (19th hole) tradition of having a drink in the bar after the round, so you get to meet even more people.
There are well established ‘playing sections’ in the club, including the Ladies, Vets (veterans), Rabbits, Foxes and Tigers. These subsets of the membership organise their own events and competitions on a regular basis, often involving matches with other Clubs in the area.
The Club also boasts a large Function Room which is available for hire and is ideal for large events such as weddings, birthday parties etc. The room commands magnificent views over the course and the practice green and along with our high quality catering service, enable us to provide an ‘events service’ which is second to none!
